A Big Book center would be a great way for students to learn how to use concepts of print. It would also encourage students to dig into the text more. Read emergent-reader texts with purpose and understanding. This is another great tool/activity to accompany the 19 pins. Alcoholics Anonymous is often referred to as a step program, and AA is the basis for many other step programs that have been established. These 12 steps are outlined in Chapter 5, “How It Works,” of the Big Book. The steps helped each of the co-founders of AA in their own recovery from alcoholism and have continued to help countless.
